BYOB: Bring Your Own Beginner Program (It's Free!)
Rose City Swing is proud to announce its annual BYOB – Bring Your Own Beginner – a program that offers a FREE introductory workshop in West Coast Swing and FREE evening social dance on Thursday evening.
Bring a friend or come on your own! No partner required! It’s a welcoming environment for anyone who wants to learn this fun dance. If you are already a west coast swing dancer, this a great time to learn the opposite role or just to brush up on your understanding of the flow of the dance.
Experienced dancers who bring their own beginner(s) may attend the BYOB workshop with their invitees for free too! Register at the door on Thursday night. (Did we mention it’s FREE?)
Our BYOB instructors for 2024 will be Trina Siebert, Joe Broderick and Leilani Nakagawa!
FREE BEGINNER WORKSHOP PLUS SOCIAL DANCING*
During these two hours of instruction, you will learn not only the fundamentals of this very cool and super fun dance, but you’ll also get addicted to the sweet creative possibilities it has to offer. After the classes, there will social dancing for you to practice your new moves.
These classes are devoted to beginners. If you’re new to West Coast Swing, looking for a great activity and exercise, or simply curious about what the fuss is all about, come out and join in the fun! If you have some WCS experience, here’s the perfect opportunity to learn the other role, or refresh your understanding of the flow of the dance.

OTHER STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW
Comfortable clothes and leather-soled shoes are recommended. There is social dancing after your BYOB lessons. It’s a great way to practice your new skills and see firsthand all the amazing things that Westies can do!
*Does not include the “Event Kickoff Workshop” in the main ballroom. The Kickoff workshop is restricted to weekend pass holders and is included in their weekend pass.
