Rose City Swing 2026 is a full weekend of West Coast Swing classes, social dancing, and community all in one place. During the day, we offer workshops for all levels on a variety of topics, giving dancers lots of chances to learn, practice, and improve. In the afternoons and evenings, we add competitions and social dancing! Come cheer on your friends, show off your moves, and dance all night.
Between classes and dances, there’s time to relax, connect with other dancers, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Rose City Swing.
Wear something comfortable that lets you move and stay cool. Soft-soled dance shoes or sneakers that slide easily on the floor work well, and clothes that stretch and breathe will make long nights of dancing much more enjoyable. The goal is to feel good, move freely, and focus on dancing.

- Workshops are 50 minutes long, unless otherwise designated on the schedule. This allows a few minutes for video recaps and for transitioning to your next workshop.
- Advanced/AllStar workshops are taught at a level and pace appropriate to higher-level dancers. Dancers at other levels may sit and watch these workshops and may participate in their own area off to the side but may not dance in the same rotation as the advanced and all-star dancers.
An intensive is a longer, more focused class that allows one specific West Coast Swing topic to be explored in depth. Instead of just learning a few patterns and moving on, more time is spent working on technique, timing, connection, musicality, and how everything applies to real dancing.
Because of the extended format, ideas can be broken down, practiced, and reinforced so they actually stick. Intensives are ideal for leveling up, getting unstuck, and gaining a deeper understanding beyond what a single class can provide. You can find more details about our intensives here!
- It is very important that every competitor reads the Rose City Swing Competition Rules BEFORE you sign up to compete.
